Three-member small groups are actually incomplete quaternions. Gulenko talked about incomplete Beta and Gamma quadras. Machintruc 18:05, 21 June 2007 (CDT)

Which small groups are considered classical ? Which aren't ? Machintruc 06:12, 22 June 2007 (CDT)

Supervision rings are just one of many small groups. Gulenko calls them "thinking styles," but other socionists give them significantly less attention than his temperaments, which are more obvious. (Admin 12:00, 24 June 2007 (CDT))

Any particular reason why the supervision rings, among all such others, were selected to be included here? Expat 12:05, 24 June 2007 (CDT)

Also, what about those other groups by Gulenko, as the erotic behavior (Aggressor, Victim, Infantile, Caregiver) -- shouldn't we mention them? Expat 09:44, 4 July 2007 (CDT)

Those definitely. A good strategy would be to mention everything that is already somewhat familiar to English audiences. (Admin 13:13, 4 July 2007 (CDT))
I think we should get rid of "supervision rings" for now. (Admin 05:07, 5 July 2007 (CDT))
I tried to read on them, and I confess I didn't get very far, I found only some very brief mentions in translations of Gulenko's papers, and honestly I did not instinctively graps why those rings should even be seen as recognizable and characteristic units. I couldn't take a crack at it, unless there is more information elsewhere. Expat 05:59, 5 July 2007 (CDT)
Basically, he looks at four orderings of elements and construes that if the order is the same in the mental ring of functions in all four types, then there must be similarities in thinking styles. However, this idea hasn't caught on as much as some of his other ones. (Admin 06:09, 5 July 2007 (CDT))
Ah I got it now. I must say it makes little sense to me. Expat 06:25, 5 July 2007 (CDT)

What is a small group?

"Small groups as a socionic concept generally include a set of four types which have three intertype relations excluding identity."

That's an interesting definition. I don't have time to check if it's actually correct. --Admin 19:35, 17 September 2007 (BST)

There are many such socionic quartets that have not been mentioned, including Stern’s Learning Skills and Kretschmer’s Special Dispositions. --Meganeura 18:31, 23 September 2008 (BST)
