Five factor model, also known as FFM, is a well-known model of differential psychology, which was established by McCrae and Costa, in 1993.
This model has various theoretical and practical origins, especially Eysenck's PEN model, Cattel's 16 Personality Factors (16PF), and Norman's Big Five. This last is very similar to FFM, and is very often confused with it.
This model has five factors :
- Extraversion
- Agreeableness
- Conscientiousness
- Neuroticism
- Openness to experience
They can be remembered easily by the acronym OCEAN.
